Private dining in Florence

For those who would like to spend an evening in the privacy of a Florentine home where Tuscan cuisine, fine local wines and stimulating conversation are center stage, then here is your chance.

 

As a culinary instructor and cookbook author who married a Florentine and relocated to this enchanting corner of the globe 40 years ago from my native California, I have always enjoyed sharing Tuscan stories and recipes with my guests. I truly believe mingling with the locals is what gives a visitor the ultimate souvenir to tuck away: insight into the life of everyday Florentines. So, for those who are not interested in partaking in one of my half-day culinary workshops but would like to gain insight into the life and food of Tuscany, I am now offering private dining experiences exclusive to your small group or family.  

 

Below is a sample of what may be waiting for you at this Florentine table.

 

 

Sample Dinner Menu

 

Antipasti: Three types of canapes (hot and cold) and fried zucchini blossoms are paired with sparkling white wine or savory Chianti. These savory finger foods are typically served pre-meal, allowing guests to casually chat in the dining room, (or peek into the kitchen) as the hostess finishes up dinner preparations.

 

First Course: Homemade Pasta or Gnocchi dressed in a seasonal sauce; OR a savory risotto made with fresh seasonal vegetables; OR a hearty soup.

 

Second Course: Chicken sautéed in aromatic herbs and Tuscan olives; OR Tuscan Pork Roast; OR Florentine Steak marinated in fresh rosemary and green peppercorns.  For Fish lovers and/or Vegetarians, I am happy to propose a savory entrée.

 

Side Dish: A seasonal vegetable that pairs well with the entrée.  Choices may be Florentine stewed green beans OR oven baked herb potatoes OR white cannellini beans cooked with fresh sage and garlic OR sautéed spinach OR baked pearl onions…

 

Dessert: A dessert (chocolate flourless tarts OR tiramisù OR biscottini with sweet wine OR a seasonal fruit delight…) concludes this unique dining experience.

 

 

Prices for this unique dining experience - four course dinner with open bar - in a private Florentine home (without culinary workshop) are as follows:

 

min. 2 persons - maximum 6 persons

 

Pricing:

 

2 persons – 220.00 euro

3 persons – 300.00 euro

4 persons – 360.00 euro

5 persons – 425.00 euro

6 persons – 475.00 euro
